As part of SiGMA World 2026, FX.world will offer attendees the opportunity to claim Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning hours. Eligible conference-stage talks take place from 03 to 05 November at Fiera Roma, with up to six hours available per day, or 18 across the three days.

The initiative applies to brokers, fintech companies, payment providers and other individuals who work in the foreign exchange and financial services fields, since their duties usually involve constant interaction with new technology, market structures and regulatory requirements.

There is an opportunity to gain that knowledge by taking part in conferences, as they bring together a variety of viewpoints on the commercial and operational issues confronting the sector.

Professional development in a changing financial sector

In the environment in which foreign exchange and financial services businesses function, there is a frequent overlap between technical knowledge and commercial judgement.

Brokerage teams should assess the infrastructure and service providers, and the payment specialists should look at the reliability and efficiency of the transaction processes. Compliance professionals also have their own set of challenges, namely a need to understand the regulatory obligations and the way in which these affect the operations of their organisations.

The extent to which executives and managers can evaluate these matters is in part due to them keeping a clear understanding of developments that are outside their direct responsibilities.

SiGMA World’s CPD initiative brings together learning opportunities from several industries, allowing FX professionals to look beyond financial markets. The five-stage programme covers subjects that intersect with brokerage operations, technology, customer acquisition and business development:

  • Main Stage: International business expansion, regulation, gaming operations and leadership.
  • Italy Stage: Italy’s regulated gaming market, compliance and product innovation.
  • AGS Stage: Affiliate marketing, traffic acquisition and performance-driven partnerships.
  • AIBC Stage: Artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital assets and emerging technologies.
  • Global Finance Stage: Forex, liquidity, fintech, payments and financial services.

For brokers and financial services providers, the programme creates opportunities to explore how other industries approach technology, regulation and affiliate partnerships, alongside developments specific to the forex sector.

Continuing Professional Development provides a framework for recording learning which helps to build up professional knowledge and skills. At FX.world the CPD programme will include any talks that take place on the conference stages, enabling delegates to link the subjects covered with their own learning objectives.

It is important to distinguish between conference learning and the rest of the event programme; exhibition visits, business meetings and networking events do not count as CPD learning hours.

People can ask for up to six hours each day at the conference, and the amount that is accepted will be determined as part of the attendance and certificate procedure after the event.

The CPD hours also have a purpose which is different from that of professional licences or regulatory qualifications, so if anyone wishes to use them to meet the requirements of a particular professional body they should check the criteria set out by that organisation.

How the CPD process works

Delegates who wish to record the learning gained at the conference can express an interest by registering through a central CPD page on the SiGMA website.

The information needed to identify the attendees and to assist with their certificate requests will be gathered as part of the registration process. Delegates have the option of filling in the form either before the summit or while they are attending the event.

Verification of attendance will make use of the current daily entrance scans. Delegates should make sure that their event badge is scanned when they enter the venue each time they attend a conference day. There will be no need for a separate scanning procedure for individual talks.

When the FX.world has ended, iGaming Academy will review the requests together with the recorded attendance information and then issue the CPD certificates by email.

If delegates need some guidance while the event is going on, they can go to the SiGMA College stand, where help with the CPD process will be on offer.

The initiative offers financial industry professionals another means of making use of their time while in Rome; in addition to assessing suppliers and setting up contacts, the conference sessions can provide valuable learning that contributes to their continuous professional development.

More information and details about the registration will be found on the dedicated SiGMA CPD page.
